What does Secure Relief Inc. [SRI] do? Secure Relief Inc. provides for the employment needs of the chiropractic profession. Specifically we place doctors in both short-term [vacation, injury, maternity leave etc] "coverage" situations, and place doctors for more long-term positions as "associates." [back to top] What is to be gained by doing office coverage other than a paycheck? A paycheck may be a very important thing when one is first starting a fledgling practice, or between associateships, or a homemaker who needs to supplement the family income. Other benefits include:
I've started my own practice -- which is my highest priority. Must I accept every job that Secure Relief Inc. offers me, even if it interferes with the running of my practice? Not at all! You are under no obligation to accept any assignment! However if you do accept an assignment that is a serious commitment -- even if for only a day. [back to top] How do I join the staff of Secure Relief Inc? It's a two step process: step one. On this site there is an application which you need to complete and return to us. By completing it, you will be giving us a thorough professional profile with respect to performing office coverage. The most important item on your application are your doctors of reference; we need to establish a minimum of two, so add a third [in case one does not get back to us.] Please provide accurate phone numbers. You need to return the application with a one-time only, non-refundable $25 registration fee. step 2. We will call you upon receipt of your application to clarify anything that needs clarification. At that time, with your permission we will send you our agreement. When SRI receives your completed agreement, SRI will establish your references -- and then welcome you aboard. [back to top] What do you pay, and when do you pay? SRI pays a minimum of $200 for a full day of coverage and a minimum of $125 for a half day, or the going market rate in your area. Payment is made the very next week. [back to top] Are there any exceptions? Rarely, if a job requires an extended day [beyond 9-7], an extended commute, or an esoteric technique there may be modest additional compensation. [back to top] Do you withold taxes? No, we pay you as an independent contractor and we mail you a 1099 at the end of the year. [back to top] How does our agreement work? The basic structure of the agreement is that once you are introduced to a doctor by Secure Relief, all business with that doctor, as well as all referrals made by that doctor, will be conducted through SRI, for the period that you are a staff member of SRI plus a 2 year period thereafter. This is a solemn pledge. [back to top] If I want to terminate my relationship with SRI -- how easy is that to do? It's as easy as lifting the phone and telling us. Keep in mind that the above paragraph, relating to the two year period, absolutely applies to you. Also you simply have the option of "deactivating yourself," and then at any future time "reactivating yourself" with a phone call. [Providing that at the time you deactivated you were a member in good standing with us.] [back to top] I already do coverage work for doctors whom I've met on my own. I don't need to do these coverages through SRI, right? Right! This is completely your business. [back to top] How much work will I get? This question is impossible to answer because it depends on many factors such as your geographical location, what states your licensed in, whether you are licensed for physical therapy or not -- but the two most important factors rest in your hands: 1] are our clients satisfied with your work? 2] do you generally say "yes" when we call you? [back to top] What if I do coverage job for SRI and the doctor wants me to join his practice on either a full-time or part-time basis? You must immediately notify SRI of this development. You must get Secure Relief Inc's written permission to accept the position. This is part of your agreement. There is no fee charged to you. The client's agreement with SRI covers this contingency and obligates the client to a modest placement fee payable to SRI. If this is something you desire, tell us -- and we will do our best for you in this regard. [back to top] Your screening or quality-control process seems pretty stringent. Why is that so? Our commitment to our clients is to provide them with the highest quality coverage experience. By the way, we consider you our future client. As our client you will want to know that you can rest easy when it's your turn to be away from your office. Since we essentially operate on an honor system, we need to come to the conclusion that you are a person of integrity, as well as technical expertise. [back to top] When you're ready to make you're associate search hassle-free, give us a call. We'll send you a brief practice-survey form so we can access your needs and let you know how we can help. We look forward to being of service to you.
